We had a fantastic experience with Counseling. We received useful strategies that drastically improved the anxiety we were dealing with and felt genuine concern and investment from our therapist. We highly recommend their services.

Daniel Burgess, his insight, study and research, intelligence, patience, ability to read between the lines, and the safety he creates in the therapy room to explore together those dark places of your life with courage, are only some of what makes him and the work he completes with his clients so deeply meaningful and impactful. If you want to be heard, if you desire and are willing to take a chance on yourself to make positive changes in your life, your relationships, your approach to those challenges you are experiencing, Daniel and those he works with at Ascent Family Therapy is where you will find the strength to do so. Daniel is a remarkable therapist with a deep heart and a desire to continue learning how best to help people who come into his office. I am grateful for the time I have had to work with him and consider myself a more fulfilled person for it.

Daniel is an EXCELLENT therapist. He is able to find practical solutions. That’s a gift. His advice helps get to the heart of problems and helps the couple learn how to fix things long-term. It’s remarkable work. Recommend to anyone.

Daniel, I just wanted to say thank you for what you have done for myself, my husband, our marriage, and our family. You were a shining light and a beacon of hope during a very dark time for us. You provided us a safe place and wise counsel that allowed us to communicate freely and work through/solve issues that I highly doubt would have been possible without you. We have once again found the love, “spark”, joy and fun in our marriage. You have given us so many new tools and resources that I know will be of great value and use for years to come. Thank you for helping to get us back, I am forever grateful.

Daniel is an incredible and insightful therapist that I would recommend to anyone. He is extremely knowledgeable and approachable. He has opened up my eyes to new ways of thinking about myself and my relationships with other people, which has helped me in my day-to-day personal life and in my marriage.

It was a dark day in my life when I finally admitted I couldn’t do it alone and that I needed help. I am very fortunate that I came across Daniel in my search for a therapist. He immediately responded to my inquiry, and he hasn’t stopped caring since. As I started meeting with Daniel, it didn’t take long for him to gain my complete trust. He seemed to quickly understand me as a person as well as what I was going through. I always felt safe with Daniel, which made it easy to talk about very personal things that I typically don’t share with others. He also helped me think outside of the box I was stuck in. And, because of the trust I had in him, he was able to stretch me to try new things, which helped to create the changes I needed in my life. Daniel has been there for me every step of the way, and I’m sending him anyone I come across who needs a therapist, as well as some who don’t.. I think everyone would benefit from working with Daniel.

Thanks, Daniel, we sincerely appreciate your help, which was instrumental in getting [our daughter] to come home with us. We put her into a really good [rehab] facility yesterday. She wanted to go because she knows she needs the help. We are praying that everything turns out well. She will be there for at least 30 days, maybe longer depending on how things go. After that, we will do everything in our power to keep her from returning to … the horrible environment which enabled many of her issues.

She’s a great young lady and we love her very much. We believe in angels, and we think that you… were sent to us in this time of need. Last weekend was unbelievably stressful, but couldn’t have ended better. Thanks again for what you did.

I took a bit of time looking for the right place for my girlfriend and I to get some professional help. I had never been to therapy before, so I was certainly picky in terms of who was acceptable/comfortable. I chose Daniel Burgess at the Nugent Family Counseling Center, went in to chat with him, and he turned out to be the right choice.

Now while I've never been to therapy prior to Daniel, I DO know some therapists, and some of those definitely should NOT be therapists. In Daniel's case, not only is he extremely intelligent but experienced in both life and his profession. In terms of relationship dynamics, he has very advanced knowledge that I was almost surprised with. Through a month's worth of time, he was able to bring us both to a few realizations. I would highly recommend Daniel

Dan has a different approach to therapy than I had seen until I met him. He is truly a great listener and adjusts his methods and tactics to each individual and family situation. Other therapists and life coaches I had talked to before meeting Dan were okay at listening, but I often got a sense that they had a set way of thinking about and helping their clients and rarely thought outside that box. That is not how Dan approaches to therapy. He is always updating his research, and when something new comes along he is excited to learn more about it and share it with everyone he feels will benefit. And truly, that means *everyone* --because I have seen that his knowledge and methods have helped so many individuals, marriages, and families. Dan's foundation is in the teachings of Jesus Christ and he is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but his approaches are so much more helpful than traditional LDS therapists and, for that matter, most LDS leaders. In addition to individual clients, he visits churches and other groups around the country and teaches those who work with young adults and families how they can better approach the difficult things facing all of us today. I have personally benefitted more than I know how to say from his help, and I know he's helped many more. If you're looking for someone to help you navigate changing yourself and your relationship for the better, I highly recommend him.
